What is the McKenzie Method of MDT?

The McKenzie Method of MDT is a reliable physical therapy assessment process intended for all musculoskeletal problems, including pain in the back, neck and extremities (i.e., shoulder, knee, ankle etc.), as well as issues associated with sciatica, sacroiliac joint pain, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, muscle spasms and intermittent numbness in hands or feet.

MDT WORLD PRESS

The MDT World Press, a quarterly international online publication, serves as a forum for collaboration and a training ground for new authors in clinical, business and public education to inform, communicate, share experiences, and learn from the worldwide community of faculty, clinicians, or students interested in the further advancement of McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT).

The Big Picture

The McKenzie Method is a biopsychosocial system of musculoskeletal care emphasizing patient empowerment and self-treatment. This system of diagnosis and patient management applies to acute, subacute and chronic conditions of the spine and extremities. It offers a reliable and practical approach that focuses on "what patients need" and not on "what therapists want to do".

"Remember, we are here for the patient."
